The holiday village of Fiesch is the touristic centre of the Fieschertal and lies near the entrance at an altitude of 1,049 m. The "Weisswasser" river babbles through the area, composed of the melt water from the Fiescher glacier, and flows into the Rhône
river on the lower half of the sun-drenched hillside.
The quaint village is the ideal starting point for mountain sports in the Aletsch region. With direct connection via the lifts, active travellers will find the best conditions in the Aletsch Arena for skiing, cross-country, ski touring, snowshoe hiking, tobogganing
and even paragliding. Fiesch is located at the foot of the Eggishorn mountain and welcomes skiers and boarders alike to both enjoy the area for its winter sporting opportunities as well as its natural surroundings, which can be taken in at the great viewing
point found up at the mountain station (2,869 m). It's here where you'll have a complete panoramic view of the 4,000 m high peaks of the Bernese Alps, including the well-known trinity Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, and not to mention the massive Alestch glacier
and its smaller companion, the Fiescher glacier. When weather permits, you can even see the far-off, recognisable peak of the Matterhorn.
