General information
Bellwald with its 420 inhabitants is situated on a sunny terrace high above the Valais at an altitude of 1600 above sea-level and it is the highest holiday resort in the area. The beautiful village with its characteristic wooden houses is a holiday destination popular with young and old.

Bellwald can be comfortably reached by car and is well connected to public transport.
by Car: From Western Switzerland: motorway A9 from Lausanne - Vevey; from North-western Switzerland: motorway A12 Bern - Vevey, then A9 - Martigny - Sion - Sierre - Brig - Fiesch - Fürgangen - Bellwald
From North-western Switzerland: motorway A6 Bern - Thun - Spiez - Kandersteg (vehicle-carriying trains through the Lötschberg Tunnel)- Goppenstein - Gampel - Brig - Fürgangen - Bellwald From Eastern and Central Switzerland: Andermatt - Realp (vehicle-carrying train Furka-Oberalp-Bahn)- Oberwald - Fiesch - Fürgangen - Bellwald (in summer via the Furka Pass)
by Train: The nearest railwaystation is in Fürgangen-Bellwald, change and take the cable car to Bellwald (or train to Fiesch: change and take the postbus to Bellwald).

The nearest airports are in Geneva, Zurich and Milano.

Summer resort
In summer Bellwald offers its guests marvelous hiking trails.
After a few hours you arrive at wonderful mountain lakes and breathtaking vantage points, which offer you a unique view of the Valaisan and Bernese Alps. Our chair lift makes the ascent to an altitude of 2500m above sea level easier. In Bellwald, relaxation and rest go hand in hand with a great choice of cultural events and of opportunities for spending your leisure time.
Winter resort
In winter Bellwald is a snowy paradise. The skiing area reaches from an altitude of 1600m to 2560m above sea level and features blue, red and black ski runs. There are 5 km cross-country skiing trails. Thanks to the snow making facilities snow is guaranteed until the end of the season. Ski and snowshoe tours lead to marvelous vantage points and unforgettable ski runs. And what about bad weather?
