About Blatten Belalp - presentation, information, photos and recommendations
General information
Blatten-Belalp lies 1322 m above sea level, and is situated, with its 350 inhabitants, in the mountains in a skiing area. If you follow the steep, twisting road from Naters, along the picturesque Rebbergen mountains, you will reach Blatten, a small village which nestles delightfully in the sunny niche of the mountain crest. Blatten is worth discovering, because with its dense concentration of timber houses, in the middle of which the small white church stands out, it has remained a typical mountain village, which despite modernity and progress has maintained its homely atmosphere.

Summer resort
The 'Zwischenbergental' valley lies in the 'Simplon' region on the Italian border, roughly an hour's drive away from Blatten-Belalp. After 4 hours of sliding, leaping and abseiling we reach the little village of Gondo, our starting point. An unforgettable day for water-babies with a head for heights. At first it was only bold hunters and crystal seakers who ventured into the dried-out gorge. Today you can accompany our experienced mountain guide, who has canyoning training, through this unique gorge. An unforgettable experience!
Winter resort
Neither the gondola on the 'Belalp', nor the numerous ski lifts (up to 3100 m above sea level) to the 'Sparrhorn' and 'Hohstock', have done any harm to the magnificent landscape. The modern and family-friendly spa resort Blatten-Belalp offers a large ski area for the ambitious skiier right up until spring. From Blatten there are also many walks and demanding tours to Berner or Walliser Hochgebirge, so that Blatten may be described as the centre of mountaineering.
