Celerina - snow queen near St. Moritz!



Celerina is glamorous St. Moritz's cosy neighbour, which, due to its ideal location is known as the sunniest resort in magnificent the Engadin. Despite the many hours of sun, the valley run into the village is skiable all winter. Celerina offers numerous opportunities to have fun both on boards and on foot: take advantage of the numerous pistes of the Corviglia in the Engadin ski region or the shops directly in the centre. If you like it a bit more fast-paced, dare a run down the Olympic bob sled track's 1,720 m of pure adrenaline. With direct access to St. Moritz's prominent ski area, Celerina is the ideal winter holiday destination for both families and party fans.

Ski
The St. Moritz ski area offers a total of 350 kilometres of piste, including ski routes. The 53 lifts offer ideal access to the network's largest ski area. This includes the Corviglia, Corvatsch and Diavolezza ski areas, as well as several smaller areas offering a great time on first-rate pistes. At altitudes between 1,720 - 3,303 m, modern lifts take all winter sports fans to their destinations, whether piste or gourmet temple. World championship runs lead you to Celerina and Furtaschellas is especially suited to families with its simple pistes. At "Piz Corvatsch" you can expect alpine scenery with wide glacier slopes. The longest run is the "Diavolezza-Morteratsch" at 10 km, but it's only suitable for very good skiers. "Grischa-Celerina", at 7 km, is the intermediate version. Black pistes include "Olympia" and "Piz Lagalb", which is only suitable for experienced skiers with its steep northern face, deep snow area and buckle pistes. A particular natural spectacle can be experienced on the run over the Morteratsch glacier, which is exclusive to experienced skiers. Snowboarders will also get their money's worth. Between Corviglia and Marguns is a fantastic snow park with quarter pipe, tables, slides, rails, jumps and fun box. Other areas also ensure fun with half-pipes, snow parks or boarder cross.

You have access to free of charge Wi-Fi hotspots at several cable car stations.

Whereas the apres ski in the other resorts in the Upper Engadin is a bit more laid back, partying is a favourite past-time in St. Moritz. Over 150 official events offer extra special entertainment. Various lodges and restaurants on the piste invite you in for some delicious refreshments. Party enthusiasts shouldn't miss a trip to the "Hossa-Bar" on Corvatsch. In the resort itself, you can visit a classic Engadiner tavern, where you can let yourself be spoilt by various culinary specialities, or party in one of the numerous clubs, e.g. the legendary club "Vivai". If you prefer it a bit more athletic, take a spin on the natural ice rink, explore the area on a winter hike or a snow shoe hike, or try exclusive parachuting, sky diving or winter golf options.

St. Moritz itself boasts over approx. 35 km of intermediate track. The entire ski region encompasses a trail network of approx. 220 km and offers cross-country fans a winter sports paradise that will meet all expectations. A real challenge is the longest track, which offers 61 km of track. This circuit takes you from Maloja to Zuoz and Schanf to Zernez. Both high-altitude trails offer beautiful views. Here, the highest trail is the Pontresina, which stretches from 2,093 - 2,200 m and over 12 km, as well as the high-altitude trails near Maloja and Silvaplana. If you don't want to leave the piste in the evening, head to one of the three floodlit pistes, e.g. the 2 km long night track near St. Moritz.

To access the trails you will need the Swiss cross-country trail pass. It costs approx. CHF 10 per day, or about CHF 30 per week.
