About Klosters - presentation, information, photos and recommendations
Klosters – skiing entertainment fit for a king!
Klosters lays in the canton of Graubünden at an altitude of 1,1180 m and is a direct neighbour of the lively town Davos. Contrary to the liveliness of the town, the village Klosters offers cosy, romantic character. The traditional mountain village, with it's quaint wooden huts, emits a cosy feeling and is the ideal holiday region for relaxation seekers. It is not for nothing that also famous guests, such a Prince Charles, like to return to this holiday resort. From Klosters you have direct access to guaranteed winter sports fun. The Gotschna lift takes you right up into the Parsenn ski area or to the Weissfluhjoch with many popular ski pistes. With the "Davos Klosters Card", you can also enjoy numerous benefits and discounts in spa centres and activity pools, or at various restaurants, for example.
SkiThe Davos Klosters Mountains lift pass allows you to take advantage of absolute skiing enjoyment on 279 kilometres of piste in the 5 ski areas Madrisa, Parsenn, Jakobshorn, Rinerhorn and Pischa (excl. Schatzalp). At an altitude between between 810 and 2,844 m, pistes covering all levels of difficulty and 55 modern lifts provide a great deal of variety. In addition, there is the especially high snow security, allowing snow enjoyment into April!
A highlight is the 12 km long run from Weissfluh to Küblis with an altitude difference of 2,034 m! This is also a paradise for snowboarders: national and international competitions take place in the region's fun parks.
Especially worth mentioning is the Jakobshorn - a snowboard Mecca for years - with the Nidecker Monster Pipe. Floodlit half-pipes, kicker, rails and a boardercross with kicker can also be found in other areas - no wish goes unfulfilled! The Pischa area offers almost exclusively freerider terrain and therefore is one of the most popular places to go in Switzerland.
For families the sunny Madrisa area is most appealing to ski. Here the adults can power out on the pistes, whilst the children can enjoy first-class child care facilities.
Since a few years, the modern lift started operation instead of the first part of the Jakobshorn lift, and the valley and summit station were both newly constructed. The comfortable lift is able to transport 100 people and offers a higher level of comfort.
Approx. 20 Wi-Fi hotspots are at your disposal in mountain huts and restaurants in the ski area.
Early birds also have the chance to enjoy untouched, freshly prepared pistes in the Parsenn ski area first thing in the morning before the area officially opens, all the while experiencing a gorgeous sunrise in the snow - the perfect start to a day of skiing!
In Klosters itself it genrally is a bit quiter in the evenings than in Davos. But also here you will find possibilities to turn night into day. In "Gaudy's Graströchni" apres ski is offered from midday until into the evening. Also the "Casa Antica" invites you to take twirl around the dancefloor. During the week the bars are there for enjoying a quiet drink, while on the weekends the DJ's provide the right dance music.
Numerous restaurants invite the guests in to try many different specialities and let the evening come to a cosy end. Those who want to be sporty in the evening can use the flood-lit piste at Sefranga lift as well as a night cross-country trail twice a week. The ice rink is illuminated once a week.
During the day, not only skiing is a major winter sport in Klosters. You can also go ice skating or try out curling. Romantic moments are guaranteed if you decide to go on a horse-drawn carriage ride and enjoy the wintery landscape whilst relaxing!
From the 100 km of tracks, about 23 km are in Klosters. All of the tracks are near the trail also also for sport skating suited. The cross-country trails have different levels of difficulty and therefore, are suitable for every kind of skier. Twice per week, a 3 km long track is lit up for enjoying night skiing.
An experienced cross-country skier's highlight is the 24 km long track from Davos via Mühle up to Sertig. On the high-altitude round course on Klosters Platz leading to Novai and Garfiun, only the fitter skiers should try themselves. A special service offered in Davon is the cross-country centre with showers, lockers and a waxing room.
