General information
Saas Almagell, with its 450 inhabitants, is located in the mountains close to a skiing area, and lies 1672 m above sea level. As the southern-most community in the Saas Valley, Saas Almagell offers tranquility and relaxation in a beautiful mountain scenery. The idyllic holiday resort has preserved its typically Valaisan characteritics and cosy atmosphere, and is the ideal place for families with children. The new chair lift Weisslaub-Heibodme offers access to new hiking and skiing areas and the top station discloses a breathtaking panoramic view of the Mischabel and Monte-Rosa massivs. In the nearby skiing resorts of Saas Fee and Zermatt, you can even go skiing in summer.

From western Switzerland: motorway A9 from Lausanne - Vevey (or from northwestern Switzerland, motorway A12 Berne - Vevey), then A9 - Sierre, main road - Visp - Saas Almagell
From northwestern Switzerland: motorway A6 Berne - Thun - Spiez, main road Spiez - Kandersteg (car-carrying trains through the Lötschberg Tunnel) - Goppenstein - Gampel - Visp - Saas Almagell
From eastern and central Switzerland: Andermatt - Realp (car-carrying train Furka-Oberalp-Railway; in summer use the Furka pass) - Oberwald - Brig - Visp - Saas Almagell
From Ticino in summer: Airolo - Nufenen pass - Ulrichen - Brig - Visp - Saas Almagell
From southern Switzerland (Centovalli)/Italy (Milan): Domodossola - Simplon pass - Brig - Visp - Saas Almagell
From Italy (Aosta, Mt. Blanc Tunnel): Aosta - Grand Saint Bernard tunnel (in summer use the pass) - Martigny, then motorway A9 - Sierre, main road - Visp - Saas Almagell
By train:
From western Switzerland: take an SBB train from Lausanne - Visp, then catch a bus to Saas Almagell
From northern Switzerland: take a BLS train from Bern - Brig, then catch a bus to Saas Almagell
From eastern and central Switzerland: take a Furka-Oberalp-Railway (FO) train to Brig or Visp, then a bus to Saas Almagell
From southern Switzerland (Centovalli)/Italy (Milan): SBB train from Domodossola - Simplon - Brig, then take a bus to Saas Almagell

Summer resort
You're in for 70km of rough riding! The trails in the Saastal are accessible from Saas Almagell and are well-marked. You can play minigolf in Saas Almagell too: the minigolf course with its 18 holes was renovated in the early 90s. It can be found in the centre of Saas Almagell, 2 minutes from the tourist office and next to the small Almagell lake. Feel free to have a game of football on the Saas Grund sand sports field. In addition, you have the opportunity to use the running and long jump facilities. The local football club practises once a week, normally on Friday evenings.
Winter resort
Snowboarders and snowboarders-to-be - both will find what they're looking for in Saas Almagell. Why not join one of our various snowboarding courses? Our guests will find the 3km-long sledging run from the 'Furggstalden' skiing area to Saas Almagell extremely beautiful, as they glide through a fairytale forrest of snowy larches and shrubs.
